How do you introduce youth to the world of city building?

In June 2021, Urban Minds teamed up with Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Urban and Regional Planning (SURP) to deliver a second year of our virtual “Weekly Warm-ups” series. 

Our team worked to create three interactive and engaging virtual workshops for SURP’s incoming class of 2025. “Weekly Warm-ups” was intended to begin creating a sense of community by allowing participants a chance to meet their peers and their educators casually.  It also allowed participants to continue building their capacity in Urban and Regional Planning the summer before going back to school.

Facilitators from Urban Minds brought these sessions to life through dynamic slide decks and lively activities.

Incoming students played “2 Truths and 1 Lie” with the faculty, completed a mini-design challenge and had plenty of opportunities to ask all of their burning questions about the program.
